What I've been up to instead of blogging :-)
I got sick again last week but thankfully all better now just in time for the 3-Day this weekend. I came down with strep throat, not even this hot toddy that Sarah recommended I drank one day at lunch last week helped -
But hot toddy's are very good I highly recommend them :-)
It dawned on me a week ago or so that I haven't bought any new running shoes since around the 3-Day last year, oops. So I went to the New Balance store and got these -
I love New Balance shoes they are all I wear to run and workout in, I have several pairs I rotate and buy a new pair a year. I went on a 5 mile run in them Sunday night and am always appalled at the difference a new pair is to what I've gotten used to. Pretty true to life too, the things we settle for when we have access to so many other bigger and better things. (see previous post :-) You're welcome for that nugget of wisdom.
So with the 3-Day just a few days away, which is crazy cannot believe it's here, I've gotten in a few long walks under my belt, not quite as many as I'd like, getting sick, going out of town and a busy work schedule aren't super conducive to going on mega 10+ mile walks. The last long one I went on was 2 Sundays ago around Buckhead and the Beltline trail -
So hope I'm prepared for the craziness to come this Friday! But I am so, so so happy that I have met my fundraising goal, thank you SOOO much to all who have donated and supported this great cause. Your donations are truly making a difference in the fight against breast cancer!
Even though I have met my goal you can still donate to help find a cure.
Atlanta get ready to see pink everywhere this weekend! Here is the route we will be walking this Friday-Sunday.
Last Saturday night I did the Firefly 5K, started at 8pm in Piedmont Park -
Lots of fun outfits and glowing accessories!
One of my fav things to do in Atlanta is run races around the city with friends!
A couple weeks ago my department at work went bowling! First time I'd been bowling in years. One of the workers at the bowling alley taught me to "shake the hand," a tactic that had mixed results. "Shake the hand, Ashley, shake the hand!" my team would yell at me when it was my turn to bowl.
Chrissy and Matt had friends over to watch one of the presidential debates!
I consumed the majority of that popcorn...
Friends, politics and yummy snacks what more could you need? :-) Halfway through the debate Chrissy and I were told we were being too loud talking about non debate related things and were banned to the bedroom. I did watch the VP debate with rapt attention last week (while sick in bed with strep) and will be watching tonight.
A few more very important updates to add to the randomness of this post -
My office was closed last Monday for Columbus Day (day before I was hit with strep) and I spent the day cleaning and trying to be productive, washed my comforter, couch cover, went through my closet, stuff I don't do that frequently. I cleaned out my refrigerator too and found this guy tucked into a case of the vintage soda bottles we served at Chrissy's Circus lingerie shower last year, haha -
A pooh bear figurine that is Matt, the baby bwown beayah who we also deemed Pooh Bear at some point too, haha! Chrissy I will give him to you next time I see you so you can never go anywhere without him :-)
I actually go through my closet on a fairly regular basis, about 3 or 4 times a year and it's really kind of sad how many clothes I own because I manage to produce several large sacks to donate each time. My two big bags I came up with this time are actually clothes I still like but all very nice conservative Ann Taylor type that I have held onto for the 4 years I've lived here, thinking if I go work in a more formal office setting I'll need them. Well don't think that will be happening anytime soon if ever haha so out they go. I usually just donate whatever I don't want but this time I thought I'd run by Plato's Closet since a lot of what I had was very nice, well they didn't want any of my stuff haha, said it was too conservative and business casual for them. The sacks are now in my bedroom at my parent's house, the place where things I don't want anymore always go.
And while I was waiting on Plato's to rummage through and reject all my stuff I popped into the dollar store next door and spotted this -
Dollar Store pregnancy tests! Who would buy one there? I mean I think it's work the extra $5 splurge.
I've also been eating lots of pumpkin treats, I bought a big bag of the candy corn fall mix for my small group tonight which I dug into yesterday and have indulged in a few pumpkin spiced lattes :-)
And Tim and Shana are back from their honeymoon! Here are Tim's pics.
Love them!
Last night having dinner with my parents my mom said, "I want you to end up with someone who you're as compatible with as Tim and Shana are" :-)
I will make more of an effort to not be such a neglectful blogger, I will take lots of pics at our last bocce game this Thursday night and of course over the 3-Day!
